Instructions
Preparing the Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a small indentation in the center of each to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
Smoking the Patties
Preheat your Masterbuilt smoker to 225°F (107°C). Add hickory or apple wood chips to the smoker.
Place the patties on the smoker grate. Close the lid and smoke for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Occasionally spritz the patties with apple juice to keep them moist.
Assembling the Burgers
Slice the buns in half and lightly toast them on a grill or in a skillet.
Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last few minutes of smoking to let it melt.
Spread your favorite condiments on the buns. Add lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and the smoked patties.
Serving and Storing
Serve the smoked hamburgers hot, accompanied by your favorite sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or potato salad.
