My wife loves seafood. It was one of the first things I learned about her when we went on our first date. She talked about finding the perfect catfish for as long as I can remember.
For her birthday, I bought an air fryer and told borrowed a recipe from my mom. While she was driving home from work, I cooked the catfish and gave them to her. She was in love after one bite. Finally, she found the perfect catfish.
Now, whenever we have a rare night without the kids, my wife asks for catfish for dinner. I’m always happy to make it for her. One day, we can get the kids to eat fish too.
Can you cook battered fish in an air fryer?
You can but I do not recommend battered fish or any kind of battered food in an air fryer.
What do you soak catfish in before frying?
There are four different liquids you can soak a catfish in before frying them.
Catfish are bottom-feeders, so it has a fishy, gamey taste that most people don’t like. When you soak the catfish for a while, it helps get rid of the fishy and gamey flavors you come to expect from it.
What are the best foods to cook in an air fryer?
If you can cook something in a traditional deep fryer, you can cook it in an air fryer. The only difference between an air fryer and a deep fryer is you don’t need much oil. It’s much healthier than the traditional deep-frying route too. Here are some things you can cook on an air fryer.
What makes a good catfish recipe?
People don’t like catfish because of the smell and taste of it. Picking the liquid to soak it in will help get rid of the taste, and gritty texture catfish has typically. The right liquid will give the flavor the improvement it needs. It takes away the fishy flavor or smell. You’ll have a better chance of tricking your kids into eating fish if you soak it in the right liquid.
Seasoning plays a role in a good catfish recipe too. You need to have the right blend of seasonings for the perfect flavor. Seasonings are fun to experiment with, so you can have the best catfish you and your family have ever had. If you season it right, and the kids can’t taste the fish, you could finally get a fish dish the kids will ask you to make every night.
Fresh meat will always be better than frozen. No matter what kind of meat you have, you’re going to soak the fish anyway. You can thaw them overnight and place them in your soaking bowl in the morning. Fresh meat takes out that extra step, and the meat goes in the container.
Enjoy your fish fillet. My wife loves this recipe, and I hope you like it too!
