I would normally oil fry meatballs in the past. They end up being greasy and unhealthy. Using an air fryer to cook meatballs eliminates all the grease and will come out crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You won’t ever go back to cooking them the old way!
Another reason I love using my air fryer is how fast it heats up. It reaches your set temperature in just a minute which cuts down the cooking time. Unlike an oven or oil filled pan which takes much more time to heat up to your desired temperature.

What Makes A Good Meatball Recipe
Meatballs are simple to make with just ground up meat mixed with a few ingredients. Here are some general tips in making the perfect meatballs.
First let’s start with picking the right meat. Stick with fatty meats such as pork or beef which will give you tender meatballs.
In addition to keeping meatballs moist and tender, don’t forget to mix eggs, milk, and breadcrumbs to add to the meat. This is a must.
Loosely form the balls without packing them too tight to avoid tough and chewy meatballs. Either gently used your hands or use a scoop to make the balls.
How To Make The Best Air Fryer Meatball Recipe
This meatball recipe is straight forward and easy to follow. Here are some tips in cooking meatballs in an air fryer a success.
Make sure that you finely chop onion and garlic using a knife or food processor. You wouldn’t want uncooked chunks of garlic or onion inside the meatball.
Spread the meatballs evenly in the air fryer without overcrowding or overlapping. You want some space in between the meatballs so the air can circulate evenly.
Use a thermometer to make sure the meat is cooked all the way. Meat temperature should be at least 165F.
You can substitute breadcrumbs with parmesan cheese for a lower carb version of this recipe.
These can be eaten as is, glaze them, or add these meatballs in a sauce. For me, I eat them on their own. Yummy!
Air Fryer Meatballs
Delicious meatballs cooked in the air fryer in just 15 minutes.
- 1/2 lb Ground Pork
- 1/2 lb Ground Beef
- 1 pc Small Onion minced
- 1 pc Egg lightly beaten
- 1 tbsp Parsley chopped
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 3 tbsp Italian Season Breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Milk
Place all ingredients and meat in a bowl.
Combine and mix all the ingredients until everything is well blended.
Use a scoop or your hands to make meatballs to about 1.5 inch size balls.
Place meatballs in the air fryer in one layer with space in between each meatball.
Set air fryer to 400F and cook for 12-15 minutes or until meat temperature reaches 165F.
